This piece is meant to illustrate how what we learn from books and academic courses make up only a fraction of what our lives become as we mature. To use a mountain climbing metaphor, school takes us from home to the foot of the mountain, and we then must get out and walk up the rest of the way alongside our family members, friends, and others- learning through trial and error.
